How Often to Restripe a Parking Lot in Maine

Plows, sand and salt are hard on paint. Most Maine lots need fresh lines every year or two, and many every spring.

Why Maine lots fade fast

Snowplow blades scrape painted lines all winter, and sand and salt grind away what's left. By April, many lots have stalls, arrows and crosswalks that are hard to see.

When to stripe

Paint needs dry pavement and mild temperatures to bond, so the season runs from spring into fall. Booking early for late spring gets you on the schedule before the summer rush. Freshly paved lots should be striped after the asphalt has cured enough for paint.

Questions

Can you stripe at night?

Often yes, so the lot stays open during business hours. Ask when you request a quote.

How long before cars can park on new paint?

Typically a short time with fast-dry traffic paint. The crew will cone off areas until it's ready.
